Stirling Moss

Motor sports enthusiasts the world over regard Sir Stirling Moss as Formula One's most famous pioneer. In a career spanning 14 years (1948-1962), Moss won an astounding 16 Formula One Grands Prix , including his most memorable victory at the 1961 Monaco Grands Prix and the setting for the launch of the Kobold watch bearing his name. Famous for his good sportsmanship and loyalty to British cars, Moss was adored by racing fans and fellow drivers alike. Today, Stirling Moss is a living legend.

The Rattrapante Stirling Moss was launched in Monaco on May 26th, 2007 on the occasion of the Monaco Grands Prix. The watch was designed in close co-operation with Sir Stirling. With its ability to measure split seconds for multiple simultaneous events, the watch is an ideal tool for passengers of car rallies, as well as for spectators of motor sport competitions. Via the tachometric scale on the bezel, one can also measure the average speed of a car.

The Rattrapante Stirling Moss combines traditional design elements with modern technology and materials.

In an effort to pay tribute to the heroic age of motor sports during which Stirling Moss rose to international fame, the Rattrapante Stirling Moss features a sapphire crystal with a pronounced curveture around the outer perimeter, much like the plexiglas crystals of the watches from that era. The strong curveture of the crystal harmonizes perfectly with the retro-styled, matte-silver dial. The dial features luminous hour markers and dark-gray sub-registers, which are arranged in the classic "tri-compax" layout of the time.

The lightweight, aerospace-grade titanium case features the stopwatch push buttons arranged in a manner that is optimal for use while driving. Made entirely in U.S.A., the case features a slightly crisper design -with updated contours on the lugs- than the original Soarway case. The caseback features an engraving of Sir Stirling's signature. The genuine Louisiana alligator strap is attached to the retro-styled Soarway case via a patented, screw-locked attachment system. In addition to the alligator strap, an optional solid titanium bracelet, based on an original design by Stirling Moss, is available for true racing aficionados. Also made in U.S.A., the Stirling Moss bracelet is available on request for $950. The Rattrapante Stirling Moss arrives in a wooden collector's box with space for two additional watches. The Rattranpante Stirling Moss is covered by a 5-year warranty.
