Polar Surveyor
Chronograph
The Polar Surveyor is the world's first wristwatch to combine the functions of local time, a GMT/UTC-based second time zone, an AM/PM indicator for local time, date and a chronograph. It commanded the respect of the world's great polar explorers long before it was ever for sale to the public and is worn by dozens of expedition teams all across the world. The Polar Surveyor is not only a peerless wrist instrument for explorers, but also the most functional Kobold watch ever built.
The Polar Surveyor is powered by a specially developed caliber, called K.751. It is Kobold's first completely reworked version of the legendary ETA 7750, known to be one of the world's most reliable and accurate chronograph movements. In addition to the regular timing and chronograph functions, the Polar Surveyor's caliber displays a second time zone (24 hours), as well as the day's cycle (AM/PM) for local time. These functions are critical to polar explorers, who often face complete whiteouts or, in winter months, darkness for an entire season, both of which cause disorientation.
Kobold's Polar Surveyor Chronograph is based on Kobold's much-heralded Soarway case, crafted from a solid block of stainless steel. Each Polar Surveyor comes on a corresponding Soarway bracelet with a patented screw-locked system. The watch arrives in a wooden Kobold collector's box with room for two extra timepieces.
