Spirit of America Charity Auction
Eight years after introducing a line of Swiss Made watches bearing the Kobold brand name, the Kobold Watch Company embarked on an adventure of the horological kind. By introducing the first Kobold watch assembled entirely in the United States, Kobold laid the groundwork for its ambitious plans to manufacture watch movement and case components in the U.S. The original Spirit of America was powered by a handwound, Swiss movement and featured a German-made case. However, the movement was later modified and assembled in the company’s facilities in Pittsburgh, where the other components were assembled, too.
The Spirit of America Charity Auction, which was held in observance of the 5-year-anniversary of the attacks on September 11th, 2001, raised funds for the United Services Organization of Metropolitan New York. With the help of Kobold's Brand Ambassadors and Goodwill Ambassadors, the auction raised more than $26,000.
